	Otobüse bindik. Hayvanat bahçesine gittik. Hayvanat bahçesinin iki kapısı vardı. Biri açık, diğeri kapalıydı.	We got onto the bus and went to the zoo. The zoo had two gates. One of them was open. The other was closed.

	Açık olan kapıdan girdik içeriye. Maymunlardan başladık gezimize. İrili ufaklıykı maymunlar.	We entered the zoo from the open gate. We started our tour with the monkeys. There were tall and small monkeys

	Alçak dallarla, yüksek dallarla, türlü numaralar yaptılar. Bazısı düz, bazısi ters takla attılar.	They were doing all kinds of acrobatic tricks on the low and the high branches. Some of them were doing forward somersaults. Some of them were doing backwards somersaults

	Sonra kangurulara uğradık. Birlikte zıp zıp zıpladik. Onlar tel örgünün içinde, biz dışındaydık.	Then we dropped by the kangaroos. Granny and I jumped up and down like the kangaroos. They were inside the fence. We were outside.

	Zıplamaktan yorulduk. Gölün kıyısına oturduk. Uzun boyunlu kuğularla kısa boyunlu ördeklere, ekmek atıp doyurduk.	All the jumping around made us tired .We sat down by the lake. There we fed the long necked swans and the short necked ducks with pieces of bread.

	Dinlenince ben dar köprüden, ninem geniş köprüden, karşıya geçtik beklemeden.	After we had taken a rest we crossed the lake. I used the narrow bridge, Granny used the wide bridge.

	Pagağanların kafesi çok eğlenceliydi. Büyük papağanların sesi kalın, küçük pagağanların sesi inceydi.	The cage of the parrots was a lot of fun. Big parrots had harsh voices. Small parrots had soft voices.

	Papağanlardan sıkılınca, bakındık şöyle etrafa. Bir aradaydı gergedan, fil ve zürafa. Fil su fışkırtıyordu gergedana. Zürafa dedi, “Bakın Su şişmanlara, benim gibi zayıf olamayanlara....”	When we got bored with the parrots we looked around. Rhino, elephant and giraffe were standing together. The elephant was pouring water onto the rhino. Giraffe said,”Look at these fat animals, they cannot be thin like me.”

	Gergedan çok kızdı bu sözlere. “Aldırmayın,” dedi bize. “Pek kıskançtır zürafa. Karışır hep böyle oyunumuza.”	Rhino got very angry at what giraffe said. Rhino said, “Don't listen to him. He is very jealous. He always interferes our game."

	Ninem dedi, “Biz gezimizi bitirelim. Tartışmaya hiç girmeyelim.” Biraz yürüyünce yeşil patikadan bir havuz gördük kocaman. Havuzda renk renk balıklar vardi. Kırmızılar çok, siyahlar azdı.	Grandma said, “Let's not get involved with their argument and finish our tour. After a short walk on a green path we came to a big pool. In the pool there were fish in different colors. There were many red ones, but only a few black ones.

	Balıklar uzun süre eğlendik. Suda salınışlarını izledik. Ninem dedi, “Güneş batmak üzere. Aydınlıkta gitmeliyiz eve. Karanlık olursa eğer, merak eder evdekiler.”	We had fun with the fish for a while. We watched their elegant movements in the water. Then grandma said, “Its almost sunset. We have to go home in the daylight. If it gets dark, they will get worried at home.

	Neşe içinde vardık eve. Anlattık her şeyi bizimkilere. Ben uyumaya gittim erkenden. Ninem hep geç yatar benden. Uyumadan önce son düşüncem ... Yarın nereye götürecek beni ninem?	Happily we got home. We told everything to my parents. I went to bed early. As usual, grandma went to bed late... Before I went to sleep I was thinking where to go with grandma the next day....
